Chemours Tefzel® ETFE films exhibit superior mechanical toughness as well as similar chemical inertness to its Teflon® FEP and PFA cousins. Tefzel® can be processed using many of the same techinques as other thermoplastics including heat sealing, thermoforming, laminating, and die cutting. Most grades of Tefzel® ETFE are rated for continuous use at 150°C (302°F), based on the 20,000-hr criterion.
- Chemical Compatibility
- ETFE film is chemically inert and solvent resistant to most chemicals
- Superior Mechanical Toughness
- Excellent impact resistance
- Lower elongation
- Greater tensile strength
- Radiation Resistance
- Greater resistance than Teflon™ but not immune to gamma at elevated temperatures
- Long term weatherability
- No measureable change in 20 year outdoor exposure in Florida
- Outdoor cover panels
- Diaphragms
- Bearing liners
- Lens covers
- LZ – General Purpose Virgin PFA film
- CLZ – Corona Treated (One side cementable)
- CLZ20 – Corona Treated (Both sides cementable)
