Chemours Tefzel® ETFE films exhibit superior mechanical toughness as well as similar chemical inertness to its Teflon® FEP and PFA cousins. Tefzel® can be processed using many of the same techinques as other thermoplastics including heat sealing, thermoforming, laminating, and die cutting. Most grades of Tefzel® ETFE are rated for continuous use at 150°C (302°F), based on the 20,000-hr criterion.

  • Chemical Compatibility
    • ETFE film is chemically inert and solvent resistant to most chemicals
  • Superior Mechanical Toughness
    • Excellent impact resistance
    • Lower elongation
    • Greater tensile strength
  • Radiation Resistance
    • Greater resistance than Teflon but not immune to gamma at elevated temperatures
  • Long term weatherability
    • No measureable change in 20 year outdoor exposure in Florida
  • Outdoor cover panels
  • Diaphragms
  • Bearing liners
  • Lens covers
  • LZ – General Purpose Virgin PFA film
  • CLZ – Corona Treated (One side cementable)
  • CLZ20 – Corona Treated (Both sides cementable)
